Mark Russo, MD, MPH, FACG, is Medical Director of Liver Transplantation, Chief Division of Hepatology, and Clinical Professor of Medicine at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Charlotte, NC. He graduated from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1992 and completed his residency, gastroenterology and transplant hepatology fellowship at UNC. He is board-certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology and transplant hepatology. He has served on a number of national committees for ACG, including the ACG Institute, Clinical Research Committee, Public Relations Committee, Education Committee, and SAT subcommittee, as well as on committees for the AASLD, AGA, AST, and UNOS. He has been the PI on dozens of clinical trials in hepatitis C and other liver diseases and has more than 100 publications on research in liver diseases and transplantation. He has served as Associate Editor for The American Journal of Gastroenterology.
