Jana Al Hashash, MD, MSc, FACG, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in FL. She is a gastroenterologist and a specialist in the diagnosis and management of patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). She is a physician scientist interested in clinical and translational research related to IBD. She has published over 160 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts, a number of book chapters, and authors the UpToDate chapters on the medical management of low-risk adult patients with mild to moderate ulcerative colitis, medical management of mild (low risk) Crohn's disease in adults, as well as the medical management of high-risk, adult patients with moderate to severe Crohn's disease. She has received funding for several of her research projects. Dr. Al Hashash is an ACG Fellow, AGA Fellow, and a member of the Crohn's Colitis Foundation. She serves on numerous committees including the ACG Women in Gastroenterology Committee, ACG Practice Parameters Committee, AGA Clinical Practice Update Committee, as well as the National Scientific Advisory Committee (Professional Education Committee) of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. She is a member of the Chapter Medical Advisory Committee for the Central and Northern Florida Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. Dr. Al Hashash has received numerous prestigious awards and honors for her teaching, research, and clinical care including the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society award, AUB Faculty of Medicine Humanism and Professionalism Physician Award, and the Junior Faculty Research Award from the University of Pittsburgh, among many other recognitions and awards. She was recognized by the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center on multiple occasions for her high Patient Satisfaction (Press-Ganey) scores and was awarded the 'Above and Beyond Award' for Commitment to Patient Care.
