Monica Nandwani, DNP, RN, FNP-BC, began her gastroenterology advanced practice provider career at Johns Hopkins where she completed a year-long gastroenterology nurse practitioner fellowship, the first of its kind, in 2011. Ms. Nandwani worked at the Center for Neurogastroenterology and Motility at Johns Hopkins until 2016 when she moved to Northern California to work at the Stanford Esophagus Center. In 2019, she transitioned to the role of Manager of Advanced Practice Providers at Stanford Health Care’s Center for Advanced Practice. Ms. Nandwani completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at the Duke University School of Nursing. She is passionate about education, APP professional development, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice. She is currently the Chair of the ACG Advanced Practice Provider Committee. Ms. Nandwani has presented at various national GI conferences and co-authored a variety of publications, including an article on ‘Incorporating Advanced Practice Providers into Gastroenterology Practice’. In 2022, she was awarded the inaugural ACG NP/PA Award for Clinical Excellence.
