Amanda Johnson, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and gastroenterologist specializing in Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Mayo Clinic Rochester. Dr. Johnson attended medical school at the University of South Dakota, subsequent to which she completed her Internal Medicine residency, Gastroenterology fellowship, and an Advanced IBD fellowship at Mayo Clinic Rochester. Her primary research interests are focused on exploring the interaction between obesity and IBD, in addition to IBD clinical trials. She is currently involved in a number of IBD clinical trials exploring the efficacy and safety of novel IBD therapies, several multicenter consortiums retrospectively exploring IBD outcomes for various biologics and small molecules, in addition to investigator initiated studies exploring the use of endoscopic bariatric therapies and other obesity treatments in the IBD population.
