Adam S. Faye, MD, MS, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Population Health in the Division of Gastroenterology at New York University Grossman School of Medicine. Dr. Faye completed his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at Harvard University and medical school degree at Weill Cornell Medical College. He completed his internal medicine training, chief year, and gastroenterology fellowship training at Columbia University Medical Center. During his gastroenterology fellowship, Dr. Faye also completed a master’s degree in biostatistics at the Columbia Mailman School of Public Health, and pursued an additional year of advanced inflammatory bowel disease training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Faye’s research interest is focused at the intersection of geriatrics and gastroenterology. His specific focus area centers around understanding how biological measures such as frailty and sarcopenia can be used to improve both risk stratification tools and clinical outcomes among older adults with inflammatory bowel disease. He has received funding from the NIH, ACG, and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation to advance this work. Dr. Faye is also the co-Chair of the Clin-STAR Frailty Group, Geriatrics Section Editor for Current Treatment Options in Gastroenterology, a member of the ACG Educational Affairs Committee, a recent ACG Early Career Leaders Program Graduate, a member of REACH-IBD (Rising Educators Academics and Clinicians Helping IBD), a member of the AGA Young Delegates Program, and is an AIBD Ambassador.
