Stanley M. Cohen, MD, FACG, is Professor of Medicine and Medical Director of Hepatology at University Hospitals/Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland. He received his medical degree at the University of Southern California School of Medicine in Los Angeles. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center. He completed his Hepatology fellowship at Rancho Los Amigo Medical Center at the University of Southern California, then completed his Gastroenterology fellowship at UCLA and Cedars-Sinai Medical Centers. He has been on faculty at the University of Southern California School of Medicine, as well as the University of Chicago, Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, and Loyola University School of Medicine in Chicago. He is actively involved in research in various aspects of liver disease and has published multiple articles in the field of Hepatology. He has received multiple awards for excellence in teaching. He was a co-author of the ACG 2017 guidelines for the evaluation of abnormal liver tests.
