Nikila C. Ravindran, MD, FRCPC, FACG, completed her MD, Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology training at the University of Toronto. During her training, she received several prestigious awards including the Sopman Humanitarian Award from the University Health Network for clinical and academic excellence coupled with outstanding human qualities, and the prestigious Lou Cole Award for Excellence in GI Teaching. She also holds a Master's degree in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety from the Institute for Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, University of Toronto. Dr. Ravindran has a breadth of clinical experience, having held positions at the University of Calgary and Foothills Medical Centre; St. Michael's Hospital and Women's College Hospital, Toronto; and Grand River Hospital and St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener. She joined Mackenzie Health as a full time General Gastroenterologist in 2017. Dr. Ravindran has a busy outpatient clinical practice in Vaughan, Ontario, and looks after inpatients at both Mackenzie Richmond Hill and Cortellucci Vaughan Hospitals. She represents nearly 700 physicians as President of the Mackenzie Health Professional Staff Association and is a member of the Mackenzie Health Board of Directors. Dr. Ravindran is an Adjunct Clinical Lecturer at the University of Toronto, and a Fellow of both the ACG and AGA. She is a sought-after speaker amongst her peers and in the community. Dr. Ravindran currently serves as the ACG Governor for both Ontario and Canada. She was awarded the ACG's Board of Governor’s Service Award in 2021 for recognition of her strong commitment and service to the local and international Gastroenterology community. She is also the recipient of the Mackenzie Health 2021 Kudos President’s Award of Excellence for her compassionate care, strong leadership, and her ability to make her patients feel heard throughout their care journey.
