John Pentikis, PhD, is currently the Ergonomics Branch Manager at the Defense Centers for Public Health - Aberdeen. His career objectives are to continuously improve his technical abilities so he can better serve Servicemembers and Department of Defense civilian employees by providing them the opportunity to work in a pain free manner throughout their career. His work at Defense Centers for Public Health - Aberdeen and its predecessor organizations has focused on serving the needs of the U.S. government. Dr. Pentikis has traveled extensively for over 30 years to provide technical consultations, field surveys, work on special projects, and provide enhanced training worldwide. Over the years he has created innovative solutions to novel problems. In addition to his support of the Department of Defense, he has provided ergonomic services to multiple government organizations that did not have the resources to accomplish their mission. Dr. Pentikis has earned multiple degrees from the University of Lowell; now known as the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and Auburn University, War Eagle. His most recent degree was a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Auburn University with a research emphasis on one-hand lifting. He has also been recognized since 1997 by the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics as a Certified Professional Ergonomist.
