Jason Hou, MD, MS, FACG, received his medical degree from the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. He served as resident, chief medical resident, and gastroenterology fellow at Baylor College of Medicine where he also completed a Masters of Clinical Investigation. He joined Baylor College of Medicine as Director of Research for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and Medical Director of IBD at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center. Dr. Hou currently serves as Associate Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, and Director of the IBD Program at Baylor College of Medicine. He is a funded health-services investigator in IBD through institutional, foundation, and federal funding mechanisms. His research interests are in diet in IBD, IBD-associated colorectal cancer, and patient-centered comparative effectiveness research for care delivery for IBD patients. Dr. Hou also currently serves as Associate Editor for IBD for Clinical Gastroenterology & Hepatology.
