Ashley Vareedayah, MD, is an advanced endoscopist at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and Bellevue Hospital. He received his medical degree from Albany Medical College, completed residency at Georgetown University Hospital, and subsequently a Gastroenterology & Hepatology fellowship at Saint Louis University. After completing a second fellowship in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy at NYU in 2019, Dr. Vareedayah stayed on as faculty at Bellevue Hospital Center. He feels uniquely privileged to practice at the oldest public hospital in the United States, and to provide state-of-the-art care to the underserved in New York City. In addition to performing therapeutic endoscopy procedures including EUS and ERCP, one of his interests includes third space endoscopy. Dr. Vareedayah has performed the very first peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) in the history of Bellevue Hospital. Dr. Vareedayah is especially interested in fellows’ education / endoscopy training, and is actively involved in mentoring the current General GI and Advanced Endoscopy fellows at NYU.
