Marina Kim, DO, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at St. Louis University and a gastroenterologist subspecializing in interventional endoscopic procedures. She received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Subsequently, she trained in Internal Medicine at Albany Medical Center and completed Gastroenterology fellowship training at the New York Presbyterian – Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Dr. Kim then returned to Rutgers (RWJ) to complete subspecialty fellowship training in advanced endoscopy. After practicing for several years, she traveled to Japan to complete an additional training program in ESD and Magnifying Endoscopy. Her specialties include pancreatic disease, biliary tract disease, pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, surgical endoscopy and endoscopic management of obesity and GERD. Dr. Kim performs advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including ERCP, EUS, POEM, ESD, endoluminal stent placement, EMR, complex polypectomy, and endoscopic treatment of obesity with intragastric balloon placement and ESG. Her clinical and research interests include device innovation and minimally invasive endoscopic procedures, with a focus on improving the safety profile and effectiveness of treatment for patients. Dr. Kim remains dedicated to her community and committed to teaching and research. Some of her research has been presented at national and international conferences, received awards, and been published in numerous high impact journals.
