Northwell Health System
Edgewater, NJ
Arvind Trindade, MD, is the Regional Director of Endoscopy for Northwell Health Central Region, the Program Director for Advanced Endoscopy at Northwell Health, and an Associate professor at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. His goal as an advanced endoscopist is to provide cutting edge minimally invasive options for complex gastrointestinal disorders that would normally require invasive surgery to correct. His main research focus is Barrett’s esophagus, the main risk factor to esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC). Recently, Dr. Trindade has been conducting research in ways to improve screening for Barrett’s and early EAC, which includes novel ways to identify patients at risk, and research in non-endoscopic minimally invasive devices. He also performs research in novel ablation devices for Barrett’s as well as advanced imaging in Barrett’s to find precancerous cells (dysplasia) that is focal and often hard to locate in the esophagus.
